Fishkill Grill - Ramada Inn.

Meetings are held at 6:00 PM on the second Thursday of each month at the Fishkill Ramada Inn, located at the junction of Route 9 and I-84 (exit 13) in Fishkill, New York. Social half-hour is held in the Brass Rail Lounge starting at 6:00 PM. Dinner starts at 6:30 PM followed by the Guest Speaker's presentation at about 7:30 PM. Meetings generally end at 9:30 PM or 10:00 PM.

Demystifying Masking and Alpha Channels in Photoshop

Stephen Blauweiss will demonstrate various types of masking to create clean silhouetting. There will be no use of the Magic Wand or Quick Selection tools. He will also cover the relationship between Selections and Alpha Channels, as well as some handy tips for using the Pen tool, and more.

Topics will include:

• Smart Filters

Bio:
Stephen Blauweiss has been using Photoshop since its inception in 1990 and has worked as an instructor at Pratt Institute in New York City for over a decade and has served as principal computer trainer/consultant for art directors and production staff at The New York Times, CBS TV, and ShowTime Television Network, as well as at major magazines and advertising agencies such as Time Magazine and People Magazine. Since 2001, he has been a member of the Digital Archive Advisory Board for The New York Public Library.

Note: Monthly dinner meetings are held at the Fishkill Ramada Inn on Route 9
          at the junction of I-84 exit 13 eastbound, or exit 13-N westbound.
          Social half hour is from 6:00 - 6:30 PM in the Brass Rail Lounge.
          Dinner starts at 6:30 PM prompt.   Meetings start at about 7:30 PM.
          Fee for dinner and our meeting = $25 for Members; $30 non-members.
          Fee to attend the meeting only = $15 for Members; $20 non-members.
